Vishishta Innovators Pvt. Ltd. recently had the privilege of collaborating with the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) at Kodada Institute of Technology and Science for Women (KITS) for a highly engaging three-day national-level workshop titled "Recent Trends in PCB Designing & Fabrication". This event took place from 30th September to 3rd October 2024, and we are grateful for the immense support from the HOD of ECE, the Principal of KITS, the Director, and the Chairman Sir, whose encouragement and guidance ensured the workshop’s success.

During the workshop, students were given hands-on opportunities to design and implement mini-projects related to PCB fabrication and electronics. These projects not only enhanced their technical skills but also provided practical knowledge in the domain of embedded systems and circuit design. We are proud to share that the students performed exceptionally well, showcasing their dedication and understanding through the following mini-projects:

  1. Automatic Street Light Using LDR Sensor – A system designed to automatically control streetlights based on the presence of ambient light, reducing energy consumption.

  2. Fire Alarm Using NTC Thermistor – A fire detection system utilizing the negative temperature coefficient (NTC) property of thermistors to raise an alarm in case of elevated temperatures.

  3. Tank Overflow Alarm Using Transistor Switching – A water management system that signals when a tank is about to overflow using transistor switching techniques.

  4. Rain Alarm Based on NPN Transistor – A simple and effective rain detection system employing an NPN transistor to trigger an alert during rainfall.

  5. Automatic Plant Watering System – A practical and eco-friendly solution for plant care, utilizing transistors to control the watering process automatically when moisture levels drop.

  6. Battery Level Indicator Using Resistor and LEDs – A smart system designed to monitor battery charge levels through resistors and LED indicators.

These mini-projects were not just a testament to the students' creativity but also demonstrated their ability to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world challenges. The performance of the students was commendable, and their hard work and innovation were on full display throughout the event.

Vishishta Innovators Pvt. Ltd. extends its heartfelt thanks to the HOD of ECE, the Principal of KITS, Kodada, the Director, and the Chairman for their unwavering support in organizing this workshop. We are truly honored to have been part of such an enriching educational experience and look forward to more collaborative efforts in the future.

Starting Intro

We are delighted to announce the successful completion of the PCB Design Workshop held at Narasaraopet Engineering College on 30-31 July 2024. Organized by Vishishta Innovators Pvt. Ltd., this workshop provided students with an in-depth understanding of Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design and fabrication, empowering them with essential skills for their future projects and careers.

Workshop Highlights

Comprehensive Curriculum

The workshop was designed to cover various aspects of PCB design and fabrication. Students learned about different types of PCBs, schematic design, component layout methods, and routing techniques for single-sided boards. The curriculum also included post-processing of design and fabrication documents, enabling participants to independently design and fabricate their own PCBs by the end of the course.

Hands-On Learning

The workshop was divided into detailed sessions, ensuring that students received both theoretical knowledge and practical experience. On the first day, participants were introduced to PCB electronics, including the importance of PCBs, their advantages, and basic electronic components like resistors, capacitors, inductors, diodes, and transistors. Students were also introduced to EasyEDA, a powerful PCB designing tool, and learned how to draw schematics using this software.

The hands-on experiments on the first day included:

  • LED Resistor Calculation

  • Modeling of mini regulated power supply board

  • Making of police car lights using 555 timer

  • Designing of melody Generator Circuit using um66

  • Design and implementation of automatic plant watering system

  • Implementation of Alcohol detection system in Vehicle using relay switch

  • Implementation of touch switch based on 555 timer

  • Tank Over flow alarm using Transistor switching

  • Fire Alarm based Negative Temperature Coefficient (NTC) using Thermistor

  • Rain Alarm based on NPN transistor

  • Automatic Street Light using LDR sensor

On the second day, the focus shifted to various PCB fabrication methods, such as toner transfer, hand drawing, laser engraving, and photoresistive techniques. Students were guided through the detailed steps of photoresistive PCB fabrication, from layout tracing to etching using different chemicals. They also learned about soldering techniques, both DIP and SMD soldering, and component assembly.
