"Over 220 participants took part in the Ethical Robotics Workshop on July 5, 2025, exploring key issues in responsible AI and the future of robotics."

We are delighted to report the successful completion of the Ethical Robotics Workshop held at City High School on July 4 & 5, 2025. Organized by Vishishta Innovators Pvt. Ltd., this one-day workshop introduced students to the fascinating world of robotics while emphasizing the importance of ethics in technology.

With a total of 220 enthusiastic participants, the event was designed to provide young learners with a strong foundation in robotics and inspire them to become responsible and thoughtful innovators.

Workshop Highlights

Comprehensive Curriculum

The workshop was thoughtfully structured to give students a practical and conceptual understanding of robotics, grounded in simplicity and real-world relevance. Through interactive sessions and live demonstrations, students explored the building blocks of robotics via key electrical and mechanical concepts.

Key topics covered included:

  • What is Robotics? – An introduction to robotics and its role in everyday life

  • How Motors Work – Understanding the principles behind DC motors and their movement mechanisms

  • Introduction to Generators – Exploring how electricity is generated and energy is converted

  • Motors vs. Generators – Key differences in how energy flows and is utilized

  • Applications of Robotics – Real-life use cases in homes, industries, healthcare, and service sectors

The curriculum aimed not only to teach students how robots function but also to help them reflect on designing technology responsibly for the greater good of society.

Hands-On Learning: RaceBot Challenge

A major highlight of the workshop was the RaceBot Activity, where students worked in teams to build and test line-following robots. This engaging, hands-on challenge allowed them to:

  • Assemble and wire basic robot kits

  • Understand circuit design and troubleshooting

  • Watch their bots follow tracks autonomously

This interactive session brought technical learning to life and sparked curiosity, collaboration, and confidence among the students.

Ethics in Robotics: Building with Care

Along with learning how robots work, students also discussed the importance of using technology in the right way. They were introduced to the idea that robots and AI should be helpful, fair, and safe for everyone.

The session included simple questions to think about, such as:

  • How can robots be used to help people?

  • Why should we be careful about how we design machines?

  • What happens if technology is misused?

These discussions helped students understand that being a good innovator means not just building cool things — but also thinking about how those things affect the world around us.
